Beginning of the Year General Information

We hope you had a great summer vacation! Welcome to Kinder. Please take note of the following information:

• School Uniform: Children should wear their complete uniform every day. Please refer to the Pre-School Hand book for uniform specifications. Please sign and return the cover letter included in the handbook.
  
  
• Student information sheet: This sheet is going home today.Please send it back tomorrow in order to correct any errors there might be in your child's records. If during the school year there are any changes to this information, please let us know as soon as possible.




• Schedule: Classes begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. and end at 2:15p.m. Please have your child at school on time! Also, remember this is a long school day, so please be on time to pick up your child.
  
  
  
• Packing your child's lunchbox: Please send a plastic water bottle every day for your child to keep in the classroom. We have a long school day, so please send enough food for your child to have a snack in the morning and then lunch in the afternoon. Also, please send a drink for each of these meals. If you would like your child to have food from the cafeteria for lunch, please make proper arrangements with the cafeteria. We suggest you pack some healthy snacks like fruits, sandwiches, cookies, etc. Please NO coke, candy or chocolate.



• Supply bag: All bags should be in school by tomorrow. Please label only the outside of the bag.
  
  
• Label: Please label any clothing that your child may take off (sweaters, jackets, sweat pants, etc.) These items all look the same and it is difficult to tell them apart once they are removed.



• Show and Tell : Will be on Wednesday, Please help your child participate by helping them select an object that begins with the week's letter.
  
  
• Child's safety: If your child is going home a different way than usual, we must have a written note stating this.
  
  
• Folders: Will go home every Monday and Thursday. Please send them back the next day. We will send homework every Monday.



• Evaluations: We will evaluate your child every Friday on letter recognition, letter sound, vocabulary and Math skills.




• Blog: Please check your classroom's blog every Monday. We will post weekly information and vocabulary.
