Weekly Letter April 6th


Dear Parents,

We hope you had a great and restful Easter week! Please take note of the following information:

  • It was great talking to all of you during Parent – Teacher Conferences.

  • Remember to read to your child 10-15 minutes daily. This is homework.
  • Student of the week is

  • Please remember it is very important for you to read the blog at least once a week.

  • Show and Tell will now be on Thursdays. Please help your child choose what he/she will share. Sharing helps students develop oral language and boost their confidence.

This week we will be learning about:


Language: Letter Qq, sound, vocabulary and letter recognition.

Sight words: down, when, they,are,have,little,he,she.


Phonemic Awareness: Review vowels (a, e, i, o, u)


Math: Honduran coins and counting to 50.


Science: Light

Weekly Letter March 22

Dear Parents,

We hope you had a great Father's Day!. Please take note of the following information.

  • We have a short week and long Easter break!
  • Remember to read to your child 10-15 minutes daily. This is homework.
  • We will not have student of the week this week.
  • Please remember it is very important for you to read the blog at least once a week.
  • Show and Tell will now be on Thursdays. Please help your child choose what he/she will share. Sharing helps students develop oral language and boost their confidence.
  • There will be a school wide Values Presentation on Tuesday, March 23rd from 5:00 – 6:30 in room #62. "Preparándonos para la adolescencia de nuestros hijos". Presentado por el Lic. Roger Martinez.
  • Thursday March 25th is Free Color's Day.
  • Parent Teacher Conferences will be Friday March 26th from 7:30- 12:00 and 12:45 – 3:00. Sign - up sheet will be posted on Wednesday March 24th.
  • Easter break March 27th – April 5th. Classes resume on April 6th.
  • We will begin learning to indentify Honduran coins. Please send with your child in a zip lock bag one of each Honduran coins. (5,10,20,50)
  • If you have any Leo Lionni 's books we may borrow, please send them in.

This week we will be learning about:

Language: Letter Vv, sound, vocabulary and letter recognition.

Sight words: have, little, he, she.

Phonemic Awareness: word families

Math: Coins and counting to 50.

Weekly Letter March 15

Dear Parents,

We hope you had a great weekend. Please take note of the following information.

  • Today we begin the fourth and last quarter!
  • Remember to read to your child 10-15 minutes daily. This is homework.
  • Congratulations to our Student of the week Luis Carlos!
  • Please remember it is very important for you to read the blog at least once a week.
  • Show and Tell is every Wednesday. Please help your child choose an object he or she will share. Sharing helps students develop oral language and boost their confidence.
  • This is Book Week. Parents are invited to join their child during library class on Thursday from 8:20 – 9:00a.m. Please meet your child at the library.
  • Friday is Character Day! Have your child choose his/her favorite book. They need to bring the book to school and may dress up as their favorite character.
  • Dads please join your child on Friday, March 19th between 9:10 -9:50 for a surprise. Pick up your child in the classroom.
  • We begin a new set of sight words this week. They will be evaluated every Friday. It will be done in a cumulative way, starting with 4 then 8 etc.
  • Parent Teacher Conferences will be next Friday March 26th from 7:30- 12:00 and 12:45 – 3:00. Sign - up sheet will be posted on Wednesday March 24th.

  • Thursday, March 18th is Empty Bowls and Spring Concert from 5:00-8:00p.m. You may come and buy the bowl created by your child in Art class and at the same time support the needy.

Weekly Letter March 8

Dear Parents,

This is evaluation week. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest. Evaluations will be done with every day activities. Please take note of the following information:

  • Please refer to last week's blog entry for more information on Evaluation week.
  • Thank you for coming to Family day! It was a great Day!
  • Remember to read to your child 10-15 minutes daily.
  • Congratulations to our Student of the Week
    Marie Anne!
  • Empty bowls and Spring Concert will be on March 18th from 5 – 8 p.m. on the coveredcourt. Kinder students made a bowl. If you would like to buy it you may do so on this day.
  • We are getting ready for book week.(March 13-19) During this week you are invited to read a book to your child during library. Our class has Library on Thursday from 8:20 - 9:00 a.m. Also, On Friday we will have Character Show and Tell. On this day students may dress up or bring something to represent the character in their favorite book.They must bring the book with them. Please nothing expensive. If you have any questions please contact me.
  • The Virtue of the month is Discipline.

  • Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday March 26th from 7:30 - 3:00. Sign - up sheet will be posted on Wednesday 24 in the morning. I am looking forward to talking with all of you.

Family day information

Dear parents,

Family Day will now begin at 2:30p.m. Please bring your child to the gym at 2:10 in their complete school uniform. Thank you for all your support! See you on Saturday!
